Volunteer at Glenora Farm

There are many ways in wich you can support us. Ine of the more interesting ones is donationg your time and skills. There are many things that need doing and we can always use an extra hand.

This can be part time: For more information check out the day time volunteer page.

But you can also come and live on site and make it a lifestyle.

This could be for a year like so many others who spend a gap year with us. But some people decide they would like to come for longer and apply for a permanent position. For you who would like to know more about living and working at glenora farm go to the live-in coworker page.

 

Available Positions

gap year co-worker - full time/live in

Description: Responsible for assisting our people with special needs in living and working at Glenora Farm. You will live in one of our shared houses and work in our workshops. No experience is needed, just enthousiasm and loads of energy.

Cleaning Person -part time

Description: Responsible to do the cleaning for 4 of our houses, one house per week, one morning, going through out of ordinary chores such as cleaning Tubs, Windows, cooking stoves, cupboards, railings, anything that requires irregular cleaning.

Cook / Kitchen Helper -part time

Description: Meals & organic food preparation, cooking, baking , set-up tables, working along with people with special needs, alternating between our 3 houses, good sense of humour and a positive attitude.

Handy people / Jack & Jill -of-all-trades -part time

Description: Under the supervision of the Estate manager, you'll be doing some buildings maintenance & repairs, construction, plumbing, electricity, and/or under the supervision of the Farm's manager, some work on the farm, such as tractor and trailer usage, feeding animals, fencing, all kind of works around a barn. Some work at the saw mill may be needed.

Workshops / Day Program Assistant -part time

Description: Under the supervision of Workshop Masters, you'll assist and support a variety of meaningful programs such as our weaving shop, felting shop, candle workshop, herb workshop, woodworking workshop, Lapidary workshop (silversmith), start a new concrete workshop. Being able to work along with people with special needs.
